To give your board a longer life and make it more resistant, you should rub it with simple cooking oils BEFORE using it for the first time. The best oils to use are linseed oil, olive oil or walnut oil.
Pre-treatment with oil is important to reduce moisture penetration and possible odour absorption.

We recommend the following procedure:

Take a small amount of your oil and rub it into your board with a cloth. Once this is done, leave it in a quiet corner for at least 4 hours. Now that your board has “soaked up” the oil long enough, the remaining oil – if any – can be wiped off with a kitchen towel.

Once you have rubbed your board with oil, you will see that the grain of the wood, unique to each board, is highlighted. It is also possible that the board will become slightly darker in tone after oiling.

How do I clean my board?

You can clean your board by wiping it immediately after use under warm running water with a cloth and one to two drops of washing-up liquid (do not use too much washing-up liquid) or a damp cloth.

Care tip: If you notice that the board absorbs too much moisture, you can always oil it again using the procedure described above.

You should avoid doing this when caring for your wooden board:

1. Use the dishwasher for cleaning.
2. If possible, do not use the same board for cutting fruit/vegetables and meat/fish.
Always use different boards.
3. Dry the boards lying down.
4. Use the heater for drying.
